Develops, implements, and maintains the quality assurance program in full compliance with iso 9001/as9100 to prevent or eliminate defects in new or existing products by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisorsChampions the deployment of superior processes in lieu of traditional inspection activities; ensures the delivery of continuously improving value and compliance to customers and the business unit; directs all quality systems/operations; manages utilization of equipment, facilities, and personnel to obtain maximum efficiency and meet performance objectives; controls significant quality projects; and maintains authority over budget and scheduling.
Duties & responsibilities
Develops the quality assurance strategy, translates and implements that strategy into a business plan in accordance with iso standards.
Advises leadership ensuring compliance with company and industry leading practices and standards.
Implements and manages the continuous improvements activities to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of services by monitoring performance trends and reviewing process and procedures on a regularly scheduled basis to ensure measurable improvement.
Coaches and develops staff by providing an environment that encourages on-going professional growthEnsures that staff receives appropriate training and skill development opportunities to be successful in his or her role.
Manage the internal audit program and ensure all internal auditors are trained, as required.
Develops operating budgets and manages within the budget.
Identifies capital equipment needs to support inspection and test requirements.
Develops staffing plans to support the operating and sales plan.
Develops the quality technology to support design and manufacturing technology.
Primary point of contact with customers on quality related matters.
Generates and maintains quality assurance plan for the company.
Maintains compliance with iso 9001/as9100 procedures.
Hosts all customer and iso/as quality audits.
Sets up and maintains quality metrics pertaining to the company's overall quality performance and product reliability as requiredInitiates corrective actions requests, internal and external and generates timely responses to customer requests.
Assists in the analysis, evaluation and presentation of information concerning factors such as business situations, manufacturing problems, economic trends, and design and development of new products, as required, for consideration by other members of the management team.
Assists in the development of alternative methods and procedures in solving quality and manufacturing problems in meeting market opportunities.
Cooperates with other top management personnel in formulating and establishing company policies, operating procedures, and goals.
Develop initial and subsequent modifications of product assurance program to delineate areas of responsibility, personnel requirements, and operational procedures within the company.
Assists in the review of technical problems and procedures of departments and participates in determining solutions to problems or changes in procedure.
Develop and maintain customer specific quality assurance plans as required.
Complies with and ensures department compliance with company health, safety and environmental policies.
Complies with all applicable u.sExport control and security regulations.

Technical knowledge, skills and abilities:
Knowledge of statistical analysis.
Relevant knowledge of quality standards related to ipc, iso and milSpecific requirements include:
J-std-001e and j-std-001es
Mil std 883
Six-sigma process control
Strong communication and working relationship skills.
Competency in computer applications such as ms word, excel, power point and related.
Must be able to simultaneously manage several tasks/objectives and reassign priorities.
Ability to deal with a wide variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
Ability to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift 0-30 pounds and have good vision and dexterity in handling small electronic parts (sometimes under a microscope)
Experience: 10+ years’ experience in quality roles of significanceAt least 5 years of experience managing a business unit of a large manufacturer or the entire operation of a smaller manufacturer
Education: b.sDegree or equivalent experience in engineering, quality management, or related
Travel: up to 25% travel may be required
Security: u.sPerson required (u.sCitizen or permanent resident)
