Could you be insurity’s next senior accountant?
While reporting into the accounting manager, you will coordinate various accounting processes including supporting the month-end close while ensuring our financial statements are booked in accordance with gaapYour efforts will help increase the accuracy and integrity of the accounting data as well as the timeliness of our financial reportingThis role offers the opportunity to collaborate cross-functionally with other insurity groups such as sales, account management, sales operations and professional services along with being able to develop and grow your accounting skills alongside a bright and talented finance team.
You will:
Prepare and review journal entries
Administer month-end close activities and procedures
Perform complex gl and account reconciliations
Prepare monthly financial statement reporting
Audit financial transaction against source documents ensuring gaap compliance
Analyze financial results and variances compared to prior periods and budget
Improve the accounting and reporting processes through simplification and automation
Develop and manage documentation of our accounting processes and systems
Participate in audits and tax projects
Work closely with other functional areas to resolve issues
Perform additional accounting duties or projects, as needed
You have:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
5+ years of general accounting experience including month end closing
Understand gaap and financial statement preparation
Familiarity with recent asc pronouncements (606 and 842)
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and work accuracy
Be a team player able to work independently with limited supervision
Desire to thrive in a fun, dynamic, and constantly changing environment
Excellent work habits, including the willingness to go the extra mile to get the job done, especially during financial close, audit or tax season
Proficient in ms office and intermediate excel skills are key
Nice to have:
Cpa preferred
Experience in intacct, salesforce, or concur
Understanding of saas (subscription-based business model)
Experience supporting m&a activity
Experience in technology industry
Knowledge in working with multiple currencies or legal entities
Working knowledge of sharepoint and microsoft teams
Location:
Hartford, ct or us-remoteThis role is expected to begin remotely if hired to work in hartford, ct office due to covid-19.
Travel: any roles that involve travel are not to be expected to resume until further notice due to covid-19.
