This position is remote.
The manager of process engineering will support the 48forty and relogistics operations and support teams in achieving operational goals and driving process improvementsThis position plays a key role in identifying business improvements in safety, service, quality, and cost within our facilitiesThis person will be responsible for developing and coordinating the implementation of lean and six sigma manufacturing processes, and business process improvements tools in the pallet management services and total pallet management organizations in order to provide the best methods and standard work for all locations.
Job description and requirements:
Lead the growth and development of operations personnel in lean manufacturing principles by developing and conducting training of kaizen activities.
Define and design tools that consider multiple volume scenarios and capacity levels as well as capital cost and operational life cycles while maintaining flexibility and agility to accommodate multiple facilities.
Lead the development and design of 48forty/relogistics production process standards including, but not limited to, repair, sort, qualify, and material handling processesAssist operators to in deploying standard work across all locations through workshops, kaizens, employee training, and best practices.
Identify/lead initiatives to achieve process improvement and cost reduction in existing operations through labor and equipment studies
Lead the development of metrics to gain visibility and improvements related to asset utilization and process productivity across all facilities.
Collaborate with regional/corporate engineering, safety, and procurement functions to design optimal facility layouts, and standard equipment that provides the lowest life cycle cost solutions for new sites.
Participate in design and start-up of new automation projects across the network.
Ability to travel 50-75% of the time.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years engineering and/or related experience, working with and supporting operations in manufacturing environment.
Minimum of 5 yrs of engineering/operations management.
Bachelor of science degree in industrial engineering or related field.
Excellent communication skills at all levels in the organization.
Demonstrated business results related to the implementation of lean manufacturing or related continuous improvement techniques.
Six sigma green belt certification or significant related experience.
Strong collaboration skills both internally and externally.
Proven experience leading / coordinating multiple projects.
Experiences:
Multiple project management.
Preferred experience/understanding in finance.
Proven experience in building operational metrics to drive continuous improvement.
Experience in developing and implementing technical and non-technical processes for the purpose of achieving improvements in cost efficiency and quality.
An engineering degree (preferably industrial engineering or manufacturing engineering)
Experience/proficiency using autocad software
Experienced in implementing lean manufacturing for process improvement – specifically waste reduction through kaizen, standardization, and dmaic methodologies
Proficiency utilizing excel
Skills and knowledge:
Strong financial acumen required
Lean six sigma certification
Experience in dfss, doe and qos
Proficient in ms office and project management software
Autocad
