Manager, construction quality & efficiency
Sunpower is searching for a manager of construction quality and efficiency for our residential solar installation businessThis leader will be responsible for driving our qa/qc and installation efficiency best practicesAs a construction and electrical subject matter expert, the manager of construction quality and efficiency will help guide sunpower’s practices and will be a key contributor in delivering our promise of leading quality and customer experience.
Influence and improve field operations safety, quality, and efficiency
Act as a subject matter expert in defining field construction best practice
Support licensing requirements as a qualifying individual or rme for sunpower
Complete desktop and in field quality audits ensuring sunpower’s high installation standards are consistently met
Review drawings, project specifications, installation photos, and project checklists for compliance and identify any potential quality issues
Provide root cause corrective action (rcca) tracking, management, and feedback
Deliver remote and in person training on quality and efficiency best practices
Contribute to the development of technical bulletins on specific opportunities to improve the quality and/or efficiency of installations
Provide reporting and feedback to sunpower operations leadership and partners
Provide technical support on complex electrical or construction requirements as necessary
Ensure work is completed with high quality workmanship and compliant with current nec and local building codes
Engage with ahj’s and/or permitting jurisdictions as needed
Advanced knowledge of residential solar construction principles and best practices
Supervising and/or master electrician license(s)
5+ years of solar installation, troubleshooting, and repair experience
Deep knowledge of nec and the ability to navigate the guidelines
Proficient in the installation of grid-tied and micro inverter applications
Interest in learning about residential battery systems
Excellent written and verbal communication
Competent with microsoft office suite (outlook, excel, word, powerpoint, ms project) and mobile technology
Ability to learn quickly, specifically on new industry and product changes
Comfortable balancing competing priorities
Motivated self-starter, willing to take initiative
Keen eye for continuous improvement opportunities
Capable of influencing others and developing strong cross functional relationships
Ability to sit and perform computer work for long periods of time
Must have a valid state driver`s license
Must have a clean driving record
Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment criminal, driving and drug screen
High school diploma, ged, or equivalent
Licensed electrician in multiple states
2+ years’ experience as residential solar electrician
1 -3 years of solar installation management, training, or qa/qc experience on residential solar and solar + storage projects
Proficiency with solar monitoring and communication systems
Ability to lift heavy objects (50 lbsOr more) in addition to climbing ladders and working in high places
Passionate about renewable energy and residential solar installation
