About the position our unemployment insurance division is looking for a tax service representative 1 to be a part of its account management center team! this is a full-time, non-permanent positionIf selected, you will be on telework status and a telework kit will be assigned.
As our tsr1, you will be responsible for answering any questions and inquiries by our internal/external customersYou will provide up-to-date information to employers about their esd account, and answer basic questions relating to tax liability and reporting requirementsKnowledge of relevant rcws and wacs will be instrumental in this capacityYou will also serve as administrative support to tax specialists, lead, and supervisory staffIf you have great customer service, administrative, and organizational skills and you see yourself in this role, then we want you to apply!
Some of your duties:
Answer employers’ basic questions by explaining relevant rcws and wacs relating to tax liability and reporting requirements.
Respond to basic inquiries relating to the employment security act coverage and responsibility to file and report tax and wages correctly and in a timely manner.
Explain conformity with state laws and redirect customers to appropriate agencies or other agency staff.
Assist employer to prepare quarterly tax reports and compute tax, interest, and penalties.
Assist employers in preparation or adjustments to their agency reports.
Assist employers in the use of electronic filing and payment methods.
Review employer accounts and conduct interviews to determine liability and status.
Access ngts, department of revenue, l&i database, department of licensing, and secretary of state.

Required qualifications: option 1: two (2) years of college course work, involving major study in business administration, accounting, public administration, political science, law, or closely related field.
Option 2: two (2) years of clerk/typist experience involving tax-related work, of which one year must be at the office assistant 3 level or above.
Option 3: two (2) years of experience in the field of personal finance, law enforcement, adjustment of claims, collection of civil debts, or other directly related fields.
Option 4: a combination of relevant education and/or experience.
