Summary: the deputy program manager will provide leadership and support in the design, coordination, and delivery of client solutions that enable the overall strategic direction of va’s data loss prevention program (dlp)The deputy program manager will help guide teams responsible for enhancing enterprise policies, strengthening security controls, and integrating diverse technology solutions through the implementation of operational activities and processes that align with dlp program strategies. The deputy program manager will assist in the overall direction of the dlp program including defining, developing, and implementing cybersecurity strategies at a cyber program level and will guide dlp program initiatives that enable the deployment of technical capabilities and operational processes, at scale, in support of va’s dlp strategic goals and associated roadmap.
Remote work allowed. Required education: bachelor’s degree or higher in a business or technical discipline. Required years of experience: 10 years, or 5 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education Responsibilities:
Provide tactical direction to program teams in the delivery of key dlp program initiatives that move solutions to a fully configured, monitored, and managed status Collaborate across internal and client stakeholders to identify key delivery areas, implement core operational processes, and fulfill program platform and standards-based requirements Manage delivery of project work through planning and engagement with program leads and support personnel Define and promote engineering and operations best practices for dlp program releases that support agency-wide dlp initiatives Serve as a thought leader, teaming with program management, and act as a subject matter expert across multiple cybersecurity domains Provide leadership, mentor, and coach a diverse set of teams to foster collaboration, increase team effectiveness, and promote program deliverables Develop large scale processes for monitoring and controlling key information technology capability decisions geared towards ensuring the delivery of value to key stakeholders in a client organization Provide support of audit, compliance, and risk management processes in a government agency and facilitate communications and guidance on agency-level privacy practices
A deep understanding of the cybersecurity and/or it security landscape Experience in an agile/scrum organization; well versed in agile system development techniques Exceptional decision-making skills and ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a dynamic and high-visibility environment Experience mentoring and training staff including system engineers, system and business analysts, and related support personnel Experience working with remote team members Excellent communication skills – written/verbal/presentation Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills Excellent attention to detail Excellent strategic and tactical thinking skills Possesses high standards, is results oriented, and has a commitment to delivering high quality solutions on time
Previous consulting experience with federal contracting experience preferred Va and/or healthcare it experience preferred Prior technology leadership experience (i.e., lead architect, lead consultant, manager, director, program manager)
