Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a sales representative to join the ews sales team remotely in chicago, illinoisResponsible for achieving assigned sales quotas and goals for customers located within a defined geographic territory or account listProspects and develops business, responds to rfps, and develops proposals for presentation to customerCoordinates account resources with representatives from marketing, pre-sales engineering, and developmentMost basic job duties have been mastered and incumbents are gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job functionIncumbents are still directed in several aspects of their work however more straightforward tasks are accomplished without direction.
What will you do?
Organization: individual contributor competency model main interface: internal – customer service, pricing, marketingExternal – customers, distributors, contractors, agenciesBudget: provides input to the sales budget for assigned sales region
Main job duties:
Establish and grow account/end user relationships to ensure that the corporate and territory goals are met or exceeded.
Develop and manage territory business plansThis consists of expenses, sample budgets, end user presenceCompletion of all reports in a timely and articulate manner.
Work within the engineer and consulting communityUtilize the ews relationship to help promote and secure specifications.
Establish a presence at the state and local government levels for inspectors and code awareness.
Have a close working relationship with corporate functionsThis would include providing competitive feedback to pricing departments, working with product managers, technical support and customer service.
Develop and maintain local training programsAlter corporate programs to suit individual territory needsTrain and educate customers and end users on the application, features and benefits of our products.
Performs other similar and related duties as required.

Qualifications: required skills
4 year degree or equivalent experience
2+ years of prior sales experience.
Experience with electrical distribution channel or other similar distribution channelDemonstrated track record of successful contractor sales.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
An effective listener, able to maintain focus extract necessary information and validate understanding of the informationAble to able to craft and give presentations to diverse internal and external audiences.
Demonstrate effective negotiation skills with empathetic ability and be able to adapt to rapidly evolving business climate and environment.
Strong computer skills, proficient with software, for analysis and presentationsAbility to use internet and web-based resources efficiently and effectivelyKnowledge of common business and salesforce.com.
Strong product knowledge and technical understanding and be able to provide hands on presentations of products to large groups.
A solid understanding of technology of our products as well as its application.
Working knowledge of digital competence and be able to demonstrate applications as they evolve in our industry
Able to understand and stay abreast of competence of connected homes
A good knowledge and understanding for the end user and contractor
Able to understand applications for the facility manager, who is often involved as the key customer.
Able to understand the customer needs and be able to offer solutions to all levels of the customer, including mobile technology, security and productivity.
Able to pull the demand for legrand solutions in the key markets such as hospitality, data centers, with key contractors and end users.
Demonstrate collaboration skills with all levels of our customers and end users.
Understand the personas of the various customers.
Able to add value tools and processes to the customercontractor – take offs, drawings, bim.
Have a good understanding of the lnca journey map and use design thinking with interactions with our customers and end users.
