Fund development and grant writer intern
This position is a volunteer internship and is unpaid, but may be used for course credit, where applicableOnly candidates who have been selected for an interview will be notified.
International neighbors is a volunteer organization that works to equip refugee neighbors with the network and skills needed to move from surviving to thriving in charlottesville.
International neighbor seeks interns to assist with the fund development and grant writing activities10-15hrs a week.
Responsibilities and duties
Write and edit grant proposals to governments, foundations and corporations, in accordance with each grant-maker’s preferences and requirements. Assist in organizing data and files that track all grants and contributions and make information easily accessible to executive team. Research, identify and initiate contact with prospective individual donors. Assist in researching potential funding sources. Communicate with community-based organizations, international organizations, universities, etc.
Strong interest in refugees resettlement. Strong political sensitivities
Good understanding of grant writing techniques. Understanding of ngos environment.
Good organizational and writing skills. Capacity to conduct research online. Familiarity with microsoft office programs.
