Director, business development healthcare systems
Our business development “team pegasus” partners with operations and other teams to build and execute growth plans in assigned geographic markets and in addition, identifies and develops strategic growth opportunities for innovative relationships and leads successful expansion of existing relationship.
This position directs strategic new business and ensures existing and incremental priority hospital, health system and accountable provider relationships are maintained.
In this role, you work with health systems, hospitals, and accountable care organizations in collaboration with davita internal teams, to develop value-based care and core kidney care relationships.
Relationships built and maintained include, but not limited to: kidney disease management, care coordination (ckd through eskd), development of new dialysis centers, joint venture partnerships, acquisitions, post-acute services, acute dialysis, and discharge planning services.
It is fully remote within the territory and will require travel>50% of time externally with partnersLocations within the territory include ky, tn, ga, al, oh, ms, in.
Essential duties and responsibilities
The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all-inclusive.
Development – serve as regional development executive within a $1+b operating groupLead initiatives that drive long-term growth as part of division senior leadership team and develop lines of business that enhance davita’s service offerings.
Strategy – partner with hospital division leadership team to analyze market trends and identify opportunities/threatsDevelop plans for division to achieve company’s objectives related to revenue, ebitda, capital, presence, and other key measures.
Transactions – source, develop, and negotiate complex renal partnerships with hospitals, systems, and accountable providersExamples include medical director agreements, purchase agreements, operating agreements, hospital services agreements, and value-based care agreements.
Collaboration – lead cross-functional virtual teamsDevelop strong relationships with external and internal customersTeams and resources may include operations, strategy, finance, m&a, legal, hospital services, payor contracts, integrated care, other.
Partner relationships – develop, manage, and/or track executive relationships with hospitals, systems, accountable providers and related stakeholders including, but not limited to employed physician practices, assist with davita’s partner selection process for strategic opportunities.
Value-based care – assist teams responsible for negotiating and implementing value-based care agreements with the government and commercial payorsBuild local relationships, assess payor integrated care readiness, and qualify fit with davita.
Deliverables – manage key deliverablesPrepare and deliver executive presentations to senior leadership teams within company and at external partners.
Reporting – update salesforce.com and other internal toolsProvide timely status on accounts, opportunities and other growth initiatives within division.
EducationMba, mph or relevant graduate degree.
Healthcare experienceSignificant work experience in the healthcare industry with a health system, payor or provider; knowledge of industry dynamics (e.g., cost, quality, reimbursement, physician practice management, and risk-sharing).
Experience in development of new medical facilities, physician practice management, or ambulatory surgical center development preferred.
If no payor or provider experience, then other relevant experience (e.g., management consulting, private equity, investment banking, and pharmaceutical/device).
Development experience5+ years of transaction experience in corporate development (e.g., acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, other partnerships)Significant experience in influential leading teams to execute all aspects of transactions including planning, analysis, proposal development, negotiation, execution, and integration.

$91,000.00 to $133,700.00
