As Senior Manager, Product Design, your work will empower Virta's world-class Medical Staff to safely deliver a life-changing treatment as well as develop a first-of-its-kind EHR that enables continuous remote care for patients with type 2 diabetes and other metabolic diseases.
Responsibilities
- A player/coach - individually lead projects as a designer, and be responsible for building/managing additional resources as the team grows
- Develop and oversee the product design strategy alongside the design, product, and teams
- Shape and evolve the overall design culture, vision, principles, and process at Virta Health
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to define product strategy, vision, roadmaps, and resource allocation
- Maintain close partnership and communication with our provider team
- An effective representative of your team, substantiate the work and the decisions behind them, and be an advocate for user-centered design
90 Day Plan
Within your first 90 days at Virta, we expect you will do the following:
- Get to know your team and cross-functional partners
- Gain thorough understanding of patient needs
- Get up to speed on industry knowledge and internal science
- Enroll in treatment as a patient or viewer to gain understanding of product and treatment protocol
- Successfully ship and iterate on a feature
- Provide feedback to VP and UXD team
Must-Haves
- 6+ years of experience in product design
- Experience in the digital health industry
- 1+ year of experience in managing a team of designers
- Track record of multiple successful product launches from start to finish (wireframing, designing, prototyping, testing, and deploying)
- Demonstrated ability to build effective cross-functional partnerships across product, engineering, and clinical operations
- Strong initiative, comfort with ambiguity, and ability to drive a solid and transparent design process
- Can solve problems proactively and creatively
- Ability to think strategically and communicate effectively to champion user-first design across all levels
- Experience designing and shipping user experiences that are both usable and aesthetically pleasing, including using and building UI design systems that increase designer velocity
- Fluency with Figma or other similar design tools like Sketch, Adobe XD
- Experience designing and conducting user research and testing
- Familiarity with technical issues and ability to work constructively with engineers
- Excellent storytelling skills and is comfortable presenting to teammates, stakeholders, and executives

Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience. Virta has a location based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
