Senior Security Researcher

We are seeking a passionate Security Researcher to join the Stairwell team. This person will handle incoming technical analysis requests. We are seeking someone who is excited by complex problems, and ready to help develop Stairwell’s malware analysis capabilities. To be successful in the role, the ideal person will need to be an energetic, self-starter and possess excellent presentation and technical problem solving skills.

• Analyze unknown samples from customers and provide timely identification and summarization of threats
• Extract indicators from suspected Windows/Mac/Linux malware using in-house tools, static, and dynamic analysis
• Conduct threat research to discover emerging malware and threat actors
• Track relationships between known and unknown threats
• Author blog posts and/or presentations describing newly found threats
• Act as a mentor within the team to share best practices, new technologies, and complimentary security applications
• Provide regular product feedback to product teams

• Ability to reverse engineer and analyze suspected malware using appropriate tools
• Ability to learn and self-teach new malware analysis techniques
• Knowledge of programming and scripting languages, specifically Python, Go and C/C++, and assembly
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to express both complex technical and non-technical concepts
• Proven record of delivering threat intelligence reports, presentations, courses and webinars (please provide a link for reference)
