Senior Software Engineer
At Podium, we are looking for a Backend Engineer that can help scale our core messaging platform to millions of businesses and increase performance to dial-tone reliability. Our back end stack is Elixir, sharded PostgreSQL, kafka pipelines and AWS infrastructure. We are looking for highly self-driven people who are creative problem solvers that learn quickly and can thrive in a collaborative environment.
You would be joining the Core Platform team, which handles the messaging platform central to all services and products for Podium. Our focus is on scale, reliability, quality and an excellent API for the other Podium teams.
What you should have:
- Professional working proficiency in English
- 5+ years working as a backend developer
- Strong understanding of microservices / distributed systems architecture
- Disciplined approach to testing and code quality
- Evidence of exposure to architectural patterns of a large, high-scale web application (e.g., well-designed APIs, high volume data pipelines, efficient algorithms)
What we hope you have:
- 6+ years of professional experience as a backend engineer on an Agile development team, in a hyper-growth SaaS setting
- The passion to mentor your peers and be a problem solver
- Experience to lead other developers in projects and collaborate with other teams
- Strong experience with microservices / distributed systems architecture
