Freelance Art Director - eLearning (LEO Learning) UK, REMOTE (14070)

This is a remote role and you can be based anywhere in the UK.

We are looking for an experienced and talented Freelance Art Directors with elearning experience to join us on a freelance or fixed-term contract basis (3-5 days per week, from May to August 2021 with the potential to extend further).

The Art Directors are responsible leading the visual direction of a broad range of digital projects.

You will be responsible for understanding clients' brands and visual requirements, creating a diverse range of art direction for a variety of projects. You will also oversee the work of talented Digital Designers to ensure your concepts are brought to life. You will understand how to extract a brief, turn it into a beautiful creative design that works across a range of responsive and adaptive learning frameworks.

You should be comfortable working in multi-disciplinary teams, collaborating effectively with colleagues in both content and technical development. You should also be highly client focused, a good communicator and a natural leader. You will be proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud, able to deliver high quality concepts & designs using a broad range of techniques including image manipulation, vector illustration, typography and you understand why UI and UX design is essential to every great digital experience.

• Working with clients to establish the creative and visual requirements
• Designing high quality concepts for a broad range of digital projects (E-learning, web platforms, interactive PDF's, etc...)
• Collaborating and briefing Digital Designers, Animators, Content Builders, Learning Designers, Developers and more to help realise the creative vision
• Creating accurate graphics task lists and ensuring metrics are briefed
• Ensuring technical and accessibility requirements are met (E.g. Colour contrast, page weights, etc..)
• Providing quality assurance on projects
• Ensuring your own time is managed effectively in order to maintain the appropriate balance between art direction work and internal responsibilities
• Supporting with training and on-boarding of new hires and freelancers
• Flagging issues to Visual Design Manager/Project Managers

• Experience in digital learning
  
• High creative flair
• High proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign)
• Strong handle on typography, illustration, layout, space, inherent feel for motion
• Excellent understanding of digital UI and UX
• Excellent understanding and application of brand/style guidelines
• Great skills collaborating with clients
• Commercial awareness
• Professional, dynamic and positive attitude
• Keen eye for quality and exceptional attention to detail
• Interpersonal skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure
• Solid time-keeping skills
• Good standard of spelling and grammar
• Good understanding of MS Office tools (PowerPoint, Word)

We are looking for contractors available on a regular basis between May - August.

We are happy to discuss options for both day rate freelancers (£200-£250/day DOE) or fixed-term contracts (£32,000-£38,000 per annum, pro rata + holiday).

This is a remote-based position and our offices still remain closed due to the pandemic.
