Executive – Operations
Job Responsibilities
- Plan and manage the movement of project cargo, including oversized, heavy-lift, and out-of-gauge items.
- Conduct special projects, including route and site surveys, coordinating with government authorities for approvals, and ensuring smooth operations throughout.
- Present lifting plans and AutoCAD simulations to clients or project managers for approval, incorporating feedback as necessary.
- Develop 2D/3D models in AutoCAD to simulate lifting operations, identifying potential issues such as clearance or interference with other structures.
- Oversee the loading, unloading, and securing of cargo using cranes or specialized equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Create detailed lifting plans outlining safe procedures, equipment needs (e.g., cranes, rigging), and load distribution.
- Select appropriate cranes based on load weight, dimensions, and lifting radius, performing load and rigging calculations to ensure safe handling of the cargo.
- Ensure all plans comply with safety regulations and engineering standards, considering environmental factors like wind and ground conditions.
- Optimize lifting procedures by determining the best angles, paths, and crane positions.
- Provide visual simulations to stakeholders to ensure alignment on technical aspects and execution plans.
- Conduct risk assessments for handling, transport, and lifting operations to ensure safety compliance.
- Collaborate with health and safety teams to enforce safety standards during all operations.
- Work closely with engineers and safety officers to review and approve lifting plans and simulations, addressing all safety risks.
- Identify and resolve potential issues such as equipment failures, route blockages, or delays.
- Develop contingency plans to mitigate risks and keep the project on schedule.
- Track the real-time movement and status of project cargo.
- Prepare regular reports on KPIs, cost management, and project progress for stakeholders.
Candidate Profile
- HND/NDES/TTI qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 or 3 years of experience in project cargo handling or a relevant field.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is highly desirable.
- Ability to work flexibly at various site locations, including extended hours.
- A minimum of 3 passes at the GCE A/L examination with a distinction pass for mathematics at the GCE O/L
- Confident communication with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
