Dremio actively contributes to multiple open source technologies. As a software engineer in the Open Source team, you will be part of the team that is responsible for developing new technologies and driving open source innovation.
What you'll be doing- Develop and improve multiple Apache Software Foundation projects including Arrow, Iceberg, Calcite and Parquet, specifically open source technologies that Dremio leverages and contributes to
- Work on new research, performance and technology initiatives to drive the future of the Dremio product
- Actively work to advance all goals within several open source communities, working to drive consensus, maturity, adoption and appreciation for those open source communities within the broader developer ecosystem
- Regularly talk at conferences and meetups and blog about the open source technologies you work on
- B.S. or M.S in Computer Science or in a related technical field
- 7+ years of experience developing production level software
- Fluency in Java or C++
- Proven track record of contributing to open source software, preferably within the Apache Software Foundation
- Strong background in data processing, data structures and/or data analysis
- Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, multi-threaded and asynchronous patterns and their applications towards developing scalable systems
