Introduction:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Consultant Data Engineer to join our organization. In this role, you will play a critical part in developing the technology roadmap for our Business Intelligence (BI) practice, while leading and driving research and development efforts into new technologies. As a Consultant Data Engineer, you will have the opportunity to transform traditional technologies like Oracle and SAS into cutting-edge solutions such as Hadoop, Cloud, and Machine Learning. This is a leadership position that requires managing both traditional operational backbone and digitized solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Develop the technology roadmap for the BI practice, conducting research and implementing new technologies. Instill a culture of research and development within the team.
- Define selection criteria for identifying the most suitable technologies and build comprehensive technology and business cases.
- Transform traditional technologies like Oracle and SAS into modern product portfolios such as Hadoop, Cloud, and Machine Learning. This includes establishing structures, processes, roles, partnerships, and skill migration.
- Understand business requirements, perform data wrangling, and design summary/analytical table structures and pipelines based on business needs. Ensure data availability and accuracy in adherence to service level agreements.
- Establish clear processes for managing day-to-day operations and facilitate communication among stakeholders, from business request to requirement elicitation, analysis, design, and implementation.
- Translate business requirements into technical designs and data models, crafting solutions that meet data quality requirements and incorporate governance processes.
- Evaluate, vet, and govern the Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and sensitive data approval process.
- Lead the establishment of multi-disciplinary working teams to understand the overall direction, strategies, and business unit requirements of the organization.
- Advise business leadership on the benefits of specific technologies related to supporting business strategies.
- Perform team skills analysis, identify skill gaps, and collaborate with HRM to address those gaps.
- Delegate challenging projects to team members and support them throughout the implementation process. Establish a fair reward and recognition mechanism.
