Title: Field Coordinator-EDGE Project Div/Dept: Program Location: Child Resources Center, Slave Island, Colombo - Sri Lanka Reporting Relationship: Manager, EDGE Project

JOB SUMMARY

The “English and Digital for Girls' Education (EDGE)” project, which is implemented by ChildFund Sri Lanka and the British Council, Sri Lanka aims to empower adolescent girls with English, digital and soft skills to improve their social and economic participation. The Field Coordinator based at the Child Resource Center at Slave Island will be responsible for implementing the EDGE program and other ChildFund programs implemented in the Colombo municipality including mobilizing communities, planning and implementing activities, managing the center and liaising with stakeholders. The role requires good communication skills and the ability to foster a friendly and supportive atmosphere for the education and skill development of children. He/She will be accountable for the execution of activities as defined in the project proposals, timely submission of reports and documenting and sharing the lessons learnt.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Planning, implementing, and monitoring of the EDGE project activities.
• Meets implementation requirements in accordance with ChildFund's and donor's standards.
• Supports the Project Manager- EDGE and other Project Managers in implementing donor funded project activities in Colombo municipality
• Create a friendly and inclusive environment that promotes active engagement of children and youth in development activities and collaboration among them.
• Ensure the safety and protection of children attending the center and other activities following child protection guidelines and protocols.
• Run the center adhering to the Center Standards Guideline and ensure the protection of the assets.
• Delivering trainings to develop the capacity of Peer Group Leaders (PGLs)
• Support and guide Peer Group Leaders (PGLs) to develop session plans aligned with the program curriculum.eKjFZJJ R6xE8
• Provide ongoing support, guidance, and follow-up to PGLs to ensure the effective delivery of digital education content.
• Arrange meetings with parents/guardians to provide program updates, address concerns, and foster a positive parent/community relationship.
• Perform assigned duties as directed by the project managers assisting with program-related tasks and initiatives.
• Ensure sessions are conducted on time, adhering to the program schedule, and maintaining a conducive learning environment.
• preparation and submission of reports required by project managers.

• 2+ years experience in managing/delivering community development programs. Previous experience in managing projects in education, youth development will be advantageous.
• General written and oral communication skills in English; Preference will be given to candidates with fluency in both Sinhala and Tamil.
• Demonstrated high-level interpersonal and cross-cultural skills including the ability to build collaborative relationships internally and externally with sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, social and political issues.
• Experience in community mobilization and conducting trainings
• Computer proficiency in general office software (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)

Diploma or Bachelor degree in Sociology, Development Studies or related field required. Equivalent relevant work experience maybe acceptable in lieu of degree.
