What You'll Do- Design, develop, and deliver well-scoped milestones for a project. Deploy solutions that will build a new type of product in the area of BNPL.
- Create robust tools that empower verification of business customers, minimize identity fraud and optimize underwriting.
- Collaborate with Analysts, Data Scientists, and Product Engineers to build scalable products that optimize value for Affirm and our partners, helping them achieve their business goals.
- Work closely with tech leads, managers, and cross-functional teams within Affirm, including engineering, credit, marketing, and analytics, to understand performance modeling strategies, business drivers, and drive requirements for new products.
- Take an active role in mentoring junior engineers and improving processes that support team growth and efficiency.
- 4+ years of experience as a software engineer
- A strong understanding of distributed systems and how architectural decisions affect performance and maintainability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on asynchronous communication methods like tech specs, wikis, and project plans
- Excellent project management skills–high degree of organization and ability to surface critical information effectively
- Python/Kotlin development experience is a plus
- Passion for collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Product, Design, Analytics, and Business teams
- Experience in building data-driven solutions is highly desirable
- Familiarity with AWS or other cloud providers is a plus
