Senior Scala Backend Engineer

AccelOne is looking for a Senior Scala Backend Engineer to work on an important international project.

AccelOne provides outsourced custom software development and design services for a broad spectrum of companies in the US and Latin America. AccelOne is looking for a Senior Scala Engineer to help grow our client’s platform. Our Client is located in California and its platform is dedicated to developing new high-performance materials and chemicals faster than ever before.

• Lead by example on coding standards, documentation, and unit test coverage.
• You will be a key contributor to an expert team, requiring you to be technically creative and innovative.
• This team will require you to work collaboratively to understand technical needs, evaluate solution paths for problems and discuss recommendations based on your knowledge and experience.
• You will be required to build high-quality, innovative, and fully performing software in compliance with high coding standards and technical design.
• You must be smart, resourceful, self-motivated, have high-energy and be a passionate team player.
• You must be a self-starter and self-initiator.
• Build backend services to support product features on the Client’s Platform that puts their core technology in the hands of scientists.
• Deploy and support your software & infrastructure in the production.
• Collaborate closely with other engineers, frequently reviewing code and discussing architecture.
• Design high-performance, scalable systems.
• Test & analyze the impact and performance of your software.
• Work in a multi-functional team on features from concept to delivery.

• +5 years of experience working with Scala/Java.
• Advanced English Level.
• Experience building Backend Web services.
• BS in Computer Science or similar technical field of study, or equivalent industry experience
  
• Experience working with PostgreSQL, Redis, Python.
• Experience working with Swagger/OpenAPI and Elasticsearch.

• Familiarity with Akka, Slick, and basic functional programming.
• Familiarity with containerization / Docker.
• Experience with AWS Computer Services (EC2, ECS, Fargate, Batch).
• Experience with a non-relational database such as DynamoDB.
• Experience with production monitoring systems such as DataDog.
