About the role:
We’re looking for an enthusiastic Back-end Engineer with a passion to build scalable, performant products that will make a genuine difference to the lives of others. You will be working remotely from Spain, collaborating live with a team across Europe.

- Agile, cross-functional working - We work in autonomous teams composed of Product Owner, UI / UX Designers, QA, Front and Back End Engineers. Depending on the mission, we also embed or collaborate with others from across the business such as Infrastructure Engineers, Data Analysts, Clinical, Marketing and Legal.
- Adaptability - We apply a composable approach to system design. It allows us to experiment with different solutions, connecting various parts of our system in different ways to unlock new functionalities. This approach also means we can make each part of our system easily and safely modifiable.
Day-to-day the work will encompass:
- Work closely with team members, Product Owner and Agile Coach to develop new features and applications based on your team’s plan
- Design and implement new Services, enhance and extend existing Services
- Code to high quality standards ensuring your work is tested (unit, integration, end-to-end) and monitored to sufficient level
- Collaborate with other engineers to improve usability, scalability and quality
- Learn and stay up-to-date on technologies
- Input on colleague’s code & design reviews providing constructive feedback (as well as being open to receive feedback yourself)
- Engage in application deployments tackling tasks yourself and contributing to improving deployment plans and processes
- Actively contribute to developing your team’s product roadmaps, building and iterate on solutions
Experience and qualifications:
- RESTful API development and consumption
- Development and design of applications and services
- OOP JavaScript (Node) is our backend language of choice with PHP legacy. If your experienced in another language but an interest in learning please do make contact
