The Senior Director, Talent Acquisition is a critical part of our People team, responsible for driving and owning all things Talent from delivery against hiring targets to identifying the strategic changes necessary to help Virta achieve success at scale. Reporting to the VP People & Places, you’ll play an integral role, leading a critical team through a period of rapid change. The ideal candidate will be able to combine great empathy for leaders and hiring managers, deep technical recruiting expertise, and innovative and strategic thinking to drive our business forward.
Responsibilities
- Build strong, credible relationships with senior leaders and hiring managers as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert.
- Navigate workforce planning, strategy, and resourcing conversations with ease, inspiring trust and buy-in from your team as well as executives and other leaders and teammates across Virta.
- Attract, develop and retain top recruiting leaders, recruiters, sourcers and coordinators while supporting and developing your team and all of Virta through the challenges of rapid scaling.
- Proactively anticipate, lead and direct conversations around complex problems, goals, trade offs, and ideas. Bring innovative solutions to bear in addressing our most difficult Talent challenges.
- Leverage data to tell compelling stories, evaluate success and drive outcomes.
- Drive outcomes. From attaining hiring targets to facilitating changes that optimize the sourcing, hiring or onboarding process, we’re looking to you to autonomously move us forward at a rapid pace with our scaling business.
- Integrate Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging across all programs & initiatives; be an active voice in shaping company-wide DEI&B strategy; and partner with ERG leadership.

90 Day Plan
Within your first 90 days at Virta, we expect you will do the following:
- Get to know your clients and team, understand their needs and create plans to support them / drive outcomes
- Understand the Talent team’s key metrics and ensure goal attainment while recommending opportunities to exceed targets and diversify our offerings
- Understand and then make recommendations around areas of improvement to our current systems/processes and or additional resources we may need to help the team be more effective
Must-Haves
- 10+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience gained from organization(s) with elite standards for technical talent. Experience working at a high-growth start up and hiring in international markets is highly desirable.
- 5+ years building and leading highly effective recruiting functions in growth environments. Especially experience managing managers and teams across locations as well as groups working remotely.
- Demonstrated ability in building strong, collaborative relationships with business leaders and teammates across Virta through adaptive, flexible, data driven analysis.
- Exceptional consulting, conflict management, coaching and facilitation skills.
- Strong business and technical acumen, along with experience working as a strategic thought partner to C-Suite executives and members of their senior management team.
- Ability to set priorities and own outcomes independently. Proven record of developing and implementing a talent strategy across various hiring markets. Skilled at devising innovative solutions to business problems.
- Knowledgeable about how to develop and deliver key recruiting programs, new college grad pipelines, internship programs and other ongoing candidate support networks etc.

Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience. Virta has a location based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
