We are seeking a Senior Product Marketing Manager to support our talent growth business objectives. This position is critical in making Upwork a talent-first platform, equally solving for new and experienced talent on Upwork. You will play a crucial role in translating customer and market insights to better understand our different customer segments, resolve pain points, and identify product opportunities. Ultimately, you will help us make informed decisions that benefit our customers. You will work closely with the Product, Design, and Research teams in bringing these products to market and inform iterative product development. We are looking for someone who is a strategic customer advocate who values improving customer experiences and enjoys working with diverse partners to execute complex projects.
Your Responsibilities:- Act as the overarching voice of the customer, expert in customer market insights, mastermind of P&M, enabler of sales, accelerator of adoption, developer of the go-to-market strategy, and remover of blockers.
- Champion the customer and advocate for research and insights to own the voice of the customer and leverage those data and insights to help drive strategy
- Own the intersection of Product & Marketing, serving as the two-way conduit and “Communicator-in-Chief” between the departments, ensuring high degrees of transparency and fluidity of information at all times
- Develop and establish deeply collaborative cross-functional partnerships with leaders and colleagues across Product, Design, Customer Support, Community, Sales, and Marketing to enable the team and drive a consistent customer experience
- Demonstrate excellence in distilling product complexity into differentiated, compelling, memorable, simplified, and ready-to-use positioning and messaging and go-to-market strategy that drives understanding, consideration, and adoption
- Senior experience as a product marketing manager, preferred experience in growth and marketplace supply strategy
- Ability to analyze and use data to make clear, concrete go-to-market decisions
- Excellent storytelling skills to communicate with external and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrable achievement in supply-side growth and GTM execution.
The annual base salary for this position in California and Washington ranges from $133,000 - $187,000. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum salary for this position in California and Washington, and individual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Additionally, this position is eligible for the annual bonus plan or sales incentive plan and eligibility to participate in our long term equity incentive program.
