As Upwork’s Director of Talent Acquisition Operations you will build a strategic talent acquisition function that enables our company to deliver highly-skilled talent in lock step with the business, while operating with integrity and inclusive talent practices at its core. This role will focus on partnering and driving projects and programs focused on increasing our ability to connect meaningfully with potential candidates, increase the efficiency of our internal programs and help build a framework that will uplevel each and every interviewer and stakeholder involved in hiring at Upwork. This leader is a builder who will help optimize programs and practices today with an eye towards helping the Talent Acquisition organization achieve where it wants to be in the future
Your Responsibilities:- Work with cross-functional partners to create scalable recruiting processes and resources to ensure adoption and implementation
- Work directly with TA leadership, company executives, and business stakeholders to determine the priorities around what defines hiring success and drive programs and initiatives.
- Establish strong operational partnership with Upwork’s Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging team to ensure our talent acquisition practices and programs comprehensively support attracting and hiring a diversity of top talent
- Design and lead large-scale global recruiting transformation initiatives and projects that contribute to the success and delivery against our recruiting strategy and vision.
- Assess current training gaps and create a strategic prioritization process to roll out the most needed curriculum, including gaps for hiring managers or interviewers
- Develop, revamp, and support a broad range of TA-related programs from Branding, Internal Mobility, and Early Career hiring to Referrals, Internship Programs, and University Relations
- Manage search firm and vendor relationships with an eye towards optimizing the use of strategic partners
- Work closely with all cross-functional partners (HRBP’s, Comp, Legal, People Ops, etc) to stay up to date on any changing processes, tools, or regulations - quickly creating FAQ’s, comms, or trainings to educate and enable recruiters
- Systematically evaluate current processes and collaborate with recruiters and recruiting managers to understand the administrative lift of recruiters, recommend processes changes that focus on making recruiters more productive
- Lead the core operational processes for the Talent Acquisition team and ensure we achieve hiring success by building and delivering enablement programs to support the recruiting team, hiring managers, and interviewers across Upwork.
- Advance the use of recruiting and hiring analytics to position the recruiting team and business to make informed decisions as we grow.
- Significant experience leading a global talent acquisition operations function and team in a fast-paced growth company
- In-depth knowledge of best-in-class approaches to talent acquisition programs, policies, practices, and systems
- Strong industry relationships that will aid with external partnerships and vendors
- Deep knowledge of and a point of view about hiring analytics, talent strategy and organizational capability
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, adapt quickly to shifting priorities, make timely decisions and drive behavioral change.
- Problem solver with the ability to switch seamlessly between critical thinking and tactical execution
