This is an engagement through Upwork’s Hybrid Workforce Solutions (HWS) Team. Our Hybrid Workforce Solutions Team is a global group of professionals that support Upwork’s business. Our HWS team members are located all over the world.
Work/Project Scope:- Work across Upwork’s entire codebase to profile and identify areas to make performance improvements, with a focus on mobile user experience.
- Propose, drive, and implement architectural solutions across all software clients and platform shared codebases, as well as mobile specific codebases.
- Work with design to identify and implement optimal mobile user experiences.
- Educate engineers within Upwork for performant best practices for modern full stack web development, with a focus on performant and delightful mobile user experiences.
- Proficient with some or all of the following technologies (or similar): Vue/React, JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS, NPM, modern front end design patterns, Profiling Tools, Webpack, Microservices, Java, OOP languages/best practices, AWS or Azure platforms, HTTP/common web protocols.
- Passion for mobile experiences, and an understanding of mobile application performance bottlenecks: memory management, latency, and battery usage.
- Work independently with minimal supervision, with a solid understanding of agile practices and an eye for detail.
- Communicate frequently and effectively in English.
