Job Overview

The Independent Contractor, Packaging Design will execute print-ready artwork for packaging, and design brand assets and style guidelines for packaging. This person will collaborate with the Product Development and Marketing teams to ensure designs and assets are on-brand, with the mission and aesthetics of the company.

The main focuses for this position will be concept and design for primary and secondary packaging, and creating a packaging style guideline to ensure brand consistency.

Responsibilities

• Lead the concept and design for primary & secondary packaging that captures Soko Glam’s mission and aesthetics
• Prepare 2D or 3D renderings/models required to convey the design intent
• Create a style guideline for packaging to ensure technical consistencies (format, spacing, font, alignment, etc.)
• Work on die lines and mechanicals for primary and secondary packaging
• Work collaboratively with the Product Development and Marketing teams to produce innovative packaging designs for private label brands
• Maintain a consistent brand identity/experience across lineup of products

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in packaging design (preferably in beauty)
• 2+ years of experience technical production design preferred
• Must have a general understanding of the print process. Knowledge of printing on different materials/surfaces is a plus.
• Must be proficient in Adobe Illustrator
• Proficient in InDesign Photoshop preferred
• Must demonstrate flawless attention to details, be a team player, multitasker and creative thinker
• Able to complete revisions quickly and efficiently to meet deadlines
• Strong technical skills
• Able to navigate through, and adapt to, existing brand guides, or styles, if any
• Experience in other digital advertising media preferred (lifestyle images, pitch decks, product presentations, brochures, displays, etc.)
