About the Role
SecurityScorecard's Sales Engineering team are trusted security advisors and business partners both internally and to prospective clients, offering deep knowledge about the market and our solution. As an Insurance Senior Sales Engineer, you will report directly to Sr. Director, Sales Engineering and partner with the dedicated insurance sales team throughout the sales relationship lifecycle to build solutions to address challenges in the cyber insurance market. You will be part of the Insurance squad within the Strategic Initiatives business unit and closely align with its leadership and members. Key to the role is communicating the value proposition of SecurityScorecard's platform and suite of solutions, and positioning SecurityScorecard effectively against competing offerings for cyber insurance. You'll also collaborate cross functionally, providing customer feedback to product teams to inform the roadmap. It is anticipated that this position will equally spend roughly ⅓ of their time on Sales, Strategy and in working with Product Management.
In performing the aforementioned tasks in concert with the Field Sales Engineering Team, this position will have direct technical responsibility and ownership of insurance-related opportunities, while Field Sales Engineering will have responsibility and ownership over their own non-insurance-related opportunities.
Success in this role requires considerable prior senior engineering experience in working with product and other internal teams, as well as security and technical acumen to develop a deep understanding of SecurityScorecard's architecture and services with a consultative approach to understanding customer business needs. You'll leverage your strategic communication skills to engage in technical and business discussions with engineers and senior decision makers alike, translating customer needs into technical requirements and conveying the merit of SecurityScorecard's solutions throughout.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the senior technical resource and cyber insurance domain expert on SecurityScorecard solutions throughout the sales lifecycle
- Provide specific solution/technology/product consulting, technical and sales support for major potential accounts
- Perform in-depth and high-level technical presentations for customers, partners and prospects
- Maintain area or operation responsibilities for selected major account opportunities
- Maintain product roadmaps and alignment between the customer and relevant business entities
- Devise, present and document technical solutions
- Keep up-to-date on relevant competitive solutions, products and services
- Be a cyber insurance thought leader and present at conferences, webinars and other industry events
- Keen understanding of cyber insurance functions within brokers, carriers, reinsurers globally and craft solutions to solve specific customer challenges
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required. Masters degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in insurance, cyber insurance preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of pre-sales experience in a senior individual contributor role in cybersecurity
- Industry recognized insurance certifications such as CPCU, ARM, FCAS etc.
- Demonstrated presentation and interpersonal skills; communicate in front of large groups with a mixed audience of technical and non-technical
