This is a remote position, based in the United States.
Summary:
Rootstock is hiring a DevOps Lead to our growing technical staff. This individual will be based anywhere in the US and will be responsible for managing all internal and external DevOps functions. This includes creating builds, managing build automation, working directly with engineers to resolve packaging issues, and managing a team that deploys new upgrades to customer sandbox and production orgs. This person will work collaboratively with Engineering staff, QA, Sales , Customer Support and documentation teams to produce high-quality deliverables.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for driving operational excellence by implementing strategies for CI/CD process for multiple packages in Salesforce Orgs
- Lead and guide DevOps teams to establish enterprise-wide DevOps strategies
- Be current on Salesforce platform updates and propose adoption of new technical features
- Create Jira tickets for enhancements with functional designs and keep the information accurate and up to date.
- Interact with customers and customer-facing teams to gather requirements, feedback, and promote the Rootstock product.
- Engage with customers to solicit feedback on the product via calls, web meetings, or in person.
- Create product documentation for new features per guidelines and process.
- Update the Rootstock Community with new content, news, and documentation.
- Participate in Rootstock Community discussions.
- Ongoing Jira system administration.
- Operate, support, and improve tools for continuous integration
- Build, Document, and advocate the adoption of continuous delivery/ continuous integration process with tools like Copado, Selenium, Maven, Jenkins
- Manage integrations with version control in GIT
- Provision orgs for new customers and manage updates on an ongoing basis
- Manage incidents and outages within the Salesforce platform and handle production support
- Coordinate with Salesforce support to enable features and resolve sandbox/production issues
- Follow Agile process for completion of tasks and deliver outcomes on a regular basis
- Identify continuous improvement tasks for development, packaging, and DevOps process.
- Participate in complex debugging activities internally and customer orgs
- Deliver training for new features to employees, partners, and customers.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required.
- 4-5 years’ experience with Salesforce-specific DevOps process (1GP, 2GP, Salesforce Dx)
- Demonstrated DevOps team leadership and thought leadership
- Hands-on experience on packaging on the Salesforce platform with CI/CD tools like Copado, Maven, Jenkins
- Understanding of Salesforce packaging and 2GP concepts with some relevant certifications
- Experience with Version Control systems (GitHub, GitLab), branching strategy, and environment strategy
- Knowledgeable and understanding of the latest trends in DevOps methodologies, tools as well as emerging solutions and ability to apply them to improve the existing process.
