Summary:
The Lead Product Owner manages a world-class Product Owner team in the Products & Technology organization. With a deep understanding of building enterprise software on the cloud, the Lead Product Owner will ensure that product teams have the structure and methodology to deliver high-quality products. He or She will work collaboratively with various stakeholders to be the “voice of the product” and work with customers / customer-facing teams at Rootstock to become the “voice of customers” to the product teams.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of Product Owners that is dedicated to building the best-in-class Cloud ERP product
- Builds a strong Product Owner team that is efficient at defining detailed functional and non-functional product requirements in epics, features, and user stories with acceptance criteria
- Provides a focus on persona-based development by creating mockups, prototypes and process flow diagrams
- Oversees User Experience (Ux) with a focus on accessibility and overall usability
- Works collaboratively in a SCRUM team that includes Architecture, Development, QA, Doc to deliver high-quality deliverables in a Product Owner capacity.
- Prioritizes product backlog and Sprint backlog to secure delivery of maximum business value
- Works to manage dependencies and sets priorities across multiple teams to maintain alignment to product release and roadmap
- Ensure proper handover of specifications to developers to ensure clarity of understanding.
- Works closely with developers to review completed deliverables before handover to QA
- Determines relative business value of the backlog items and evaluates the need to address technical debt
- Analyzes data multi-application utilization to determine feature usage by customers
- Deliver training for new features to stakeholders, internal teams, partners, and customers.
- Understand market requirements and competitive offerings.
- Represent Rootstock at conferences and other customer events.
- Collaborate with the Product Strategy team to understand the market requirements.
- Collaborate with marketing on product updates and other customer-/market-facing activities such as webinars, press releases, and newsletters.
- Utilize Salesforce Platform capabilities such as reports, dashboards, workflows, etc. to analyze CRM data
- Create product documentation for new features per guidelines and process.
- Participate in Rootstock Community discussions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required.
- 5+ years of experience working in a cloud-based enterprise software company
- Experience in leading a product owner/business analyst team
- Strong understanding of business processes for the manufacturing and distribution industries.
- Strong understanding of enterprise or SaaS software and CI/CD process for rapid delivery and iteration
- Experience using Jira or similar tools preferred
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to present to a diverse audience.
- Strong MS PowerPoint skills for producing visually appealing content
- Ability to effectively work in a fast-paced, start-up environment.
- Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.
