Overview:

While this Position relies on traditional SEO skills to achieve results in the Marketplace, the SEO Specialist will primarily be creating content and working within CMS (WordPress) daily to achieve desired Rankings. The secondary main skillset that will be required is Outreach and Link building in order to improve results in the SERPs. 

The SEO Specialist position is a hands-on role that is also responsible for building SEO strategies, leveraging best practices to accomplish desired results and keeps clients on the trajectory for growth.  Through a combination of technical and marketing savvy skills, the SEO Specialist improves natural search engine rankings, while collaborating with internal teams, as well as external client contacts when necessary.

The successful SEO Specialist is a self-starter that has a strong desire to learn and grow, has flexibility to adjust and problem-solve as priorities or opportunities change. In this role we are seeking an individual that can perform essential duties of the job outlined below, help define go forward processes and practices to align with the business growth vision and is willing to accept special projects as assigned.

Responsibilities:

Content Creation

• The SEO Specialist can leverage their SEO Research and Optimization skills to create excellent SEO Research and Landing Page Content.
• As such, they will strive to become a subject matter expert within their subject space, with the ability to create excellent and engaging original SEO content, which will delight Users and become part of ongoing link acquisition.

Keyword Research

• Conduct keyword research using various tools based on program goals and KPIs
• Identify landing pages for established keywords and opportunities.

Offsite SEO

• Develop offsite strategy and manage execution of outreach and promotional strategies for link acquisition
• Collaborate with content and social teams on cohesive promotional strategies
• Conduct backlink audits using third-party tools such as Majestic SEO, Semrush, Ahrefs, and Open Site Explorer.

Website Optimization Strategies

• Website optimization for search engines: meta data elements, structured data, content recommendations, site architecture, page layout issues, internal and external linking
• Build an understanding of how search engines and their spiders work by conducting research and reporting key developments and news
• Provide recommendations and consult on technical elements which impact SEO, including assessment of code structure, utilization of scripting languages and server types (ASP, PHP, JSP, .NET, etc.), JavaScript, and CSS
• Research and resolve link architecture, content and navigation issues, and other factors that impact the technical performance of a website
• Provide strategic content recommendations

Tracking and Reporting

• Continually monitor organic search rankings to maximize traffic, revenue, leads, and other program KPI’s
• Analyze website strategies and translate anecdotal or qualitative data into recommendations and plans for revising strategies
• Create and analyze monthly client reports and provide competitive insights
• Pull relevant program data from popular analytics platforms such as Omniture and Google Analytics

Local SEO

• Evaluate and provide recommendations for clients with local service areas or storefronts, including on-site and off-site considerations
• Manage client data within local platforms such as Yext, MozLocal, and Google My Business

Qualifications:

SEO 2+ years, in house or agency

• Content – great writing skills, this is a must.
• WordPress – can lay out pages using a Builder, with Elementor is a big plus, similar experience with Divi is also a plus
• HTML, CSS, basic knowledge of how Jscript works 
• Good running knowledge of: Semrush or similar platform. Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Screaming Frog, or similar tools.
• Attention to detail, can juggle projects, and hitting deadlines a must for this role
