Rainbow design services is a leading provider of network engineering, field services, and gis mapping services in the telecommunications industryOur clients and partners are among some of the nation’s largest cable msos and manufacturersWe are seeking unity developers for the continued development of a data-driven tool revolutionizing the telecom network design industryWhile the company is based out of louisville, ky, our diverse team is highly distributed, spanning across multiple time zones.
Position summary
This position will join a team of designers and programmers of varying experience levelsThe senior unity developer will be responsible for developing, testing, optimizing, and maintaining features for our applicationThe ideal candidate is expected to have demonstrable experience working with unity and writing efficient, readable code.
Location: louisville, ky or remote
Hours: full time, mon-fri (flexible)
Responsibilities
· developing new features and enhancements as determined by the product team
· implementing bug fixes identified by qa
· writing efficient, reusable, and reliable code
· optimizing performance for lower-end and mobile hardware
· mentoring junior developers and assisting with code reviews
· providing input on sprint planning
· other duties as assigned
Qualifications
· 3+ years of professional experience with unity 3d development
· expert-level knowledge of c#
· ability to create efficient, re-usable ui based on provided mockups
· comfortable managing source code in git and resolving merge conflicts
· excellent written and verbal communication skills
Bonus considerations
· experience with an entity-component-system framework such as unity ecs or entitas
· knowledge of server-side javascript using node.js
· familiarity with no-sql databases like mongodb
· understanding of continuous integration frameworks such as jenkins
