Job description
Department management
Line management of (program/senior/lead) project managers
Interaction with other company departments
Resource management & training
Development and implementation of training programs
Mentoring and coaching of department staff
Performance appraisal of department staff
Fostering career advancement of department staff (shared responsibility)
Allocation of department resources to projects (shared responsibility)
Quality control & quality assurance
Development and implementation of quality systems, including quality systems documents
Development and implementation of quality controls within the department
Preparation for and participation in systems audits
Project supervision
Supervisory responsibility for the production of project deliverables in conformance with the predefined quality standards, on time and on budget, adhering to and promoting principles of delivery and service in dealing with psi customers
Primary escalation contact for psi customers, vendors, project teams and representatives of other functional areas for all project-related issues
Business development
Assistance in business development tasks, such as development of proposals, client meetings, vendor shows, and the like
Participation in feasibility assessment of potential and ongoing (e.gIn case of scale-up) projects
Qualifications
University degreeMd, pharmd or university degree in life sciences is a plus
At least 10-year experience in clinical research
At least 7 years of global (project-level) clinical project management experience, including management of all projects phases from startup to closure, management of all functional services, vendor management
Substantial experience in project supervision
Substantial experience with business development tasks, such as development of proposals, client presentations, bid defense meetings, and the like 5Experience in line management
