About this position:
As the Head of Product Design, you will have a crucial role in leading our Product Design Team to achieve design excellence and align our user experience and interface systems with our broader business objectives.
Our Product Design team consists of multi-disciplinary teams, including UX Designers, Content Designers, and Interface Engineers, all deeply committed to the end-users of our products. This team plays a pivotal role in gathering insights about our users and implementing scalable design solutions that benefit our business and customers. We work collaboratively with one another, as well as with user research, engineering, and product management, to develop industry-leading products that deliver value to our users.
What you'll be doing:
As Head of Product Design, you'll work in a challenging, fast-paced environment. You are a thoughtful team leader, manager, systems-level design thinker, and visionary, guided by strong instincts and keen intuition rooted in user needs and insights. You'll be responsible for guiding the careers of your team members, working closely with each of them to help them realize their full potential.
You will work across our organizational structure, concentrating on critical customer journeys across our various lines of business. Your focus will also be on ensuring top-tier Product Design quality across the organization, working closely with our talented UX Designers, Content Designers, and Interface Engineers to ensure we prioritize the most relevant details for our customers. Additionally, you will identify and lead company-level initiatives that bring high value to both our business and our customers.
Your primary areas of impact will encompass Operational Excellence, Team Effectiveness, Strategic Direction, Solutions Development, and Product Scalability.
- Operational Excellence: Establish and maintain the team's operational rhythm within the company's framework, including the quarterly planning cycle, OKRs, and regular reviews at weekly, monthly, and quarterly intervals.
- Team Effectiveness: Empower the team to achieve their goals and meet their targets efficiently and effectively. Develop and implement high-quality, scalable processes, workflows, frameworks, and templates that the team can readily use. Collaborate with the leadership team to facilitate meetings and offsite events.
- Strategic Direction: Ensure the team's focus aligns with the company's strategy. Identify internal connection points for the business development team to enhance collaboration and accelerate go-to-market opportunities.
- Product Scalability: Facilitate process to maintain our design systems to ensure UX and Engineering stay closely aligned and our development remains as smooth as possible. Lead the cross-functional teams in your area – in close partnership with engineering and design – to create and ship delightful product experiences that help people work better together
- Solutions Development: Collaborate with the product and engineering teams to determine product-market fit, align on product roadmaps, and refine user experiences. Contribute to technical and product discussions and specifications that cater to customer needs and business objectives. Lead cross-functional teams within your domain, working closely with engineering and design, to create and deliver exceptional product experiences that enhance collaboration.

- 8+ years progressive experience in Product Design with a minimum of 2+ years as Head of Product Design.
- Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining operational rhythms, including quarterly planning cycles, OKRs, and regular reviews.
- Strong track record of implementing scalable processes, workflows, frameworks, and templates for efficient team operations.
- Ability to align team goals with company strategy, ensuring seamless integration into the broader organizational framework.
- Demonstrated track record of utilizing data, analytics, research, and experimentation to formulate hypotheses, prioritize tasks, make trade-offs, and achieve results.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills, enabling the management of multiple priorities, progress on projects, and outcomes even in ambiguous and undefined situations.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, adaptable to different audiences, including the executive team, with the ability to distill and simplify complex concepts.
- Strong relationship-building and influencing skills, with a history of successful cross-functional project delivery and effective collaboration within teams, coupled with resourcefulness in accessing the right information and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in contributing to technical and product discussions, translating customer needs into viable technical solutions.
