About MakersMakers is Europe’s first and leading ‘coding bootcamp’ - where career-changers retrain as software developers. Founded in 2013, we’ve helped more than 2,200 people begin a new career in software, building long-term relationships with tech employers big and small.
We’re pretty good at what we do, according to our clients (both developers and employers), industry bodies, the press and the government. We can only get better by working with you.
OverviewAt Makers, we’re on a mission to create a new generation of tech talent. Our marketing team is agile, collaborative and supportive. No two days will be the same in this role, which will provide an excellent foundation for anyone looking to begin their marketing career. As Junior Marketing Coordinator your main focus will be to assist the Events Lead and Content Manager; whilst gaining invaluable experience of the full range of marketing functions.
Your events responsibilities will put you at the centre of the action during live events, online and in person. You’ll be hosting, assisting attendees, managing catering and more. You’ll also take an active role in event planning, helping to create new concepts and ensure the content supporting the event is eye-catching to potential customers.
You’ll also assist the Content Manager to plan new and exciting campaign concepts, supporting blog and social content creation and gaining essential knowledge of SEO.
Our team of marketing experts will mentor you as you learn the basics of everything from digital marketing to brand while you help us achieve our goals. No previous marketing experience is required, though you’ll need to be passionate about growing your career in this field.
The ideal candidate will be great at juggling multiple projects to meet tight deadlines and be efficient with admin. We typically run a lot of in-person events so you’ll need to be UK based and able to travel frequently to London, though you'll largely be working remotely for the time being.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact as part of a team in a fast-paced but friendly environment. Overall, you’ll be supporting the marketing team to transform lives in the tech space through events, content and digital marketing.

At Makers we’re proud of our environment which is built on trust over fear with a core mission to transform lives. We value growing as a person, by learning transparency, vulnerability, the growth mindset, emotional intelligence, perhaps some hard truths about yourself, and how to give and receive feedback honestly and productively. We care about being surrounded by a diverse group of bright, motivated people, who all really care about doing the very best they can for our students, for our hiring partners and for each other.
We’re building a working environment (and recruitment process) where everyone feels welcome and included - we know we can do a lot better, and we’re committed to learning what more we can do to improve. If reading this job description has given you any doubt about whether you’d feel welcome or included at Makers, first, we’re sorry; and second, we’d really like to hear from you about it, so we don’t do it again.
