About the role OR Your Impact on our Mission :

We are seeking a Data Science Architect to help develop our AI/ML products. You will collaborate with Software Engineers, Data Engineers, and Product Managers to create AI/ML algorithms to improve efficiency of our product offerings. You will need expertise in statistics, programming, data science, neural networks, expert systems, and software engineering to be successful in this role.

You will also know when to use AI/ML as a tool to augment other methods, or not at all, to solve problems for users.

Your day to day is:

Effective and clear communication with all stakeholders including product managers, data engineers, and software engineers to ensure consistency across workstreams
Identify and research algorithms that can track specific outputs to particular inputs based on the business requirements
Work with other engineers in the team to develop understanding of our AI solutions
Provide architectural and technical leadership in creating processes and best practices for model building, neural network enrichment, iterative learning, and black-box problem solving
Train and re-train models when necessary
Monitor input and output signals to ensure progress towards the designated goals
Document the process steps
Educate the broader organization on the opportunities and value of data science
Be willing to wear multiple hats to deliver on various business needs and customer requirements like building analytics dashboards, and proof of concepts
Create a well-informed AI/ML strategy and manage the adoption process

You'll be successful in this role if you have:

10+ years of relevant experience, preferably in consumer technology space (e-commerce, two-sided marketplace experience is a huge plus)
Proven track record of developing practical applications using machine learning algorithms in a Data Science Architect or a similar role
Understanding of Data Modeling and Software Engineering
Deep knowledge of Math, Statistics, Probability, and Algorithms
Proficiency in common machine learning programming languages and frameworks such as Python, Java, R, PyTorch, Open AI, TensorFlow etc.
Comfortable with cleansing and controlling large data sets that will be used to train the models
Passion for deriving business solutions using AI engineering
Comfort in working independently and with a small team in a remote environment
Has a strong sense of urgency, is able to prioritize requests, and can make informed decisions under pressure
Bachelor's degree in a related field is recommended, and higher education in the related field is preferred
