We’re looking for someone who is passionate about our mission and who will keep it at the forefront of their workIn this role you’d have the opportunity to work on projects in many different areas of the frontend, including: developing theme and plugin code for wordpress, angular web apps, responsive web page styling, api integrations, analytics and seo optimization and moreOur ideal candidate doesn’t need to have experience with it all, but should be curious and motivated.
What you will be doing:
Working with a small, tight-knit, inclusive team to ensure our web content is performant, accessible, and indexable so that every one of our users has a positive experience using our web products.
Leading the development of new web-based content in angular/typescript, and wordpress, to be used by thousands of users, improving their fertility and family journeys and health outcomes.
Working with wordpress to develop a better content management experience for our content creators, allowing them to better serve our users and clients.
Refactoring and migrating existing code to use more modern architecture designs, meet accessibility and performance standards, and fix bugs.
Actively contributing to reviewing teammates’ work via code reviews in a way that improves the team’s shared understanding of the code and improves our technology.
Requirements:
2+ years of experience in frontend web development
Practical understanding of semantic html5.
Experience using css preprocessors (ideally scss) to translate designs into high quality user experiences.
Experience with modern javascript libraries and tooling (e.gAngular, typescript)
Experience working with apis to send and receive data.
Experience using version control (git preferred)
Desire to learn and grow as an engineer and an ability to communicate and collaborate cross-functionally.
Additional experience:
Experience with angular and typescript
Experience working with wordpress or a similar content management system, experience developing custom themes and/or plugins for wordpress is a big plus.
Experience working in php
Experience writing code that meets accessibility standards and best practices (wcag 2.0+).
Knowledge of front-end performance concerns and best practices.
Prior experience working in an agile environment.
