ABOUT THE JOB:
We are looking for a Lead Environment Artist with game development experience to join our architecture visualization team and help create high quality environment art assets and scenes. Candidates should have an exceptional understanding of form, shape, structure, color, detail, and silhouette in regard to modeling and texturing.
We support remote work for this position as well as having formal office space in Atlanta, Durham, and San Francisco.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create and refine detailed photo-realistic and representational environments, landscapes, and props that are visually and technically industry leading
- Establish visual benchmarks and pipeline and workflow best practices for the Environment Art team
- Develop and enact processes that ensure all assets meet performance and memory requirements
- Creating and revising models, textures and materials for interactive environments
- Drive the advancement of environment art pipelines and asset quality while identifying new software, tech and tooling opportunities for improvement
- Help hire and mentor incredible artists within the Environment Art team
- Communicate effectively with team members, production and management to ensure that project goals and deadlines are met
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years professional experience creating high quality, game ready environment assets
- Have shipped at least 1 major game title using level creation tools like Unreal Editor/Engine in the role of Art Lead or Senior Artist
- Can demonstrate an incredible portfolio with the best examples of realistic 3D environment creation, organic sculpts, hard surface objects/props
- Proven leadership qualities, either through previous roles in a lead position or multiple examples where you took on extra responsibilities
- Self-driven with strong communication skills and are comfortable with receiving, giving, and applying feedback effectively
- Detail focused with strong organizational skills and an eye toward accuracy and consistency
- Experienced in hard surface modelling using Maya and Zbrush (or equivalent 3D programs)
- Experienced with a standard PBR based realistic texture/material pipeline and toolsets (including Adobe Photoshop, Substance Painter and Designer)
- A working understanding of photogrammetry or cinematography processes and workflows
- A passion for interior and architectural design
