Lead and manage the General Ledger accounting team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and other financial documentation.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and accounting standards. Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Collaborate with other finance teams, such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Financial Planning & Analysis, to ensure cohesive financial operations. Serve as the point of contact for financial queries and provide expertise on complex accounting issues. Communicate financial results and findings to senior management.
Lead and participate in projects aimed at improving financial systems and processes. Assist in the implementation of new accounting software and tools. Drive automation projects and efficiency initiatives within the GL function.
Adhere to given SLAs and monitor achievement. Bank & Balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
Lead month-end and year-end closing processes by ensuring all necessary tasks are completed, such as accruals, prepayments, and adjusting entries.
Analysis of financial data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
Implementation of internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE/ EXPERIENCE / TRAINING / QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR POSITION
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Fully/Partly qualified in CA, ACCA or CIMA preferred.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in similar capacity.
Proven experience with financial reporting, general ledger processes, and month-end/year-end close procedures.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite.
