Ensure vessel schedule planning and maintenance, coordinate with agents, and maximize vessel utilization.
Monitor agents’ performance in berthing, cargo operations, data entry, documentation, and any other related matters.
Monitor vessels’ actual performance against the declared performance information using reports sent by vessels, information from agents, port officials, surveyors, etc.
Monitor the total market, as well as existing and potential competition, by studying the market continuously.
Develop additional business such as break-bulk cargo and northbound laden on present service by closely working with local freight forwarders and Male agents thereby achieving additional revenue.
Liaise with ship owners and agents concerning vessel-related special requirements.
Closely monitor IO & SEA Region operations, port productivity, and vessel turnaround times and develop standard SOP’s, and processes on operational matters.
Build an excellent business relationship with relevant authorities through visits, entertainment, and other activities in order to maximize the support to the Company.
Maintain price master and monitor if correct freight rates are applied.
Develop and manage the operations team by providing regular feedback and guidance on individual performance.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE/ EXPERIENCE / TRAINING / QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR POSITION
Bachelor’s Degree approved by UGC or equivalent professional qualification with a minimum of 6 years’ experience (3 years at Assistant Manager level).
Good command of English and Sinhala languages.
Good interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail.
High level of organization and time management skills.
Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
