JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Ensure prompt, attentive, and responsible communication with principals and customers to uphold high service standards and foster strong relationships.
- Prepare accurate container declarations by promptly updating the local computer system to ensure timely reporting to vessel operators and terminals.
- Meet the operations department-related KPIs set by principals through accurate and timely updates to systems, aiming to be recognized as one of the top agents in the principals' network.
- Maintain ISO standards by diligently following established processes and work instructions in the quality system, ensuring the avoidance of non-conformities that could impact the quality of services provided to principals and customers.
- Track and monitor vessel schedules to ensure timely arrivals and departures, facilitating efficient logistics operations.
- Assist in managing port operations and liaising with relevant authorities to ensure smooth and efficient shipping activities.
- Ensure all operations adhere to maritime regulations and customs laws to maintain compliance and uphold industry standards.
- Ensure timely processing of all invoices by accurately verifying charges and supporting documents, providing precise debiting instructions to avoid penalties and disputes, and improving cash flow when applicable.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management that align with the current role, ensuring flexibility and support for team objectives.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE/ EXPERIENCE / TRAINING / QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR POSITION
- 6 passes with 'C' for Maths and English at the GCE O/Levels or London O/Levels AND
- A minimum of 2 passes at the GCE A/Levels OR
- Successfully completion of UGC approved A/L equivalent foundation course with minimum of 1-year operations experience in a shipping line.
- Excellent command of the English and Sinhala languages.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and collaborate with colleagues and clients.
- Ability to think critically and perform tasks independently.
