Job Summary:
The Executive OHS & Compliance is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the organization’s occupational health and safety programs and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. This role involves conducting risk assessments, providing training, and promoting a culture of safety and compliance within the workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement OHS Policies: Create and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety.
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement measures to manage them.
- Provide health and safety training to employees to ensure they understand and comply with safety regulations.
- Ensure the organization complies with local, state, and federal health and safety regulations.
- Incident Investigation: Investigate workplace accidents and incidents to identify causes and prevent future occurrences.
- Maintain records of inspections, findings, and produce reports suggesting improvements.
- Work with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with mandatory regulations.
- Regularly inspect workplace environments, equipment, and practices to ensure they meet safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Previous experience of handline ISO and apparel related audits
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of OHS legislation, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to conduct thorough investigations.
- Ability to anticipate and address potential safety issues.
- Strong attention to detail, especially during inspections and investigations.
