We are currently inviting applications from qualified candidates to join our team and fill the following vacancy our manufacturing facility at Sapugaskanda, Makola.

Junior Executive / Executive - Research and Development 

Responsible for process improvement / development activities of the company aligned with the quality management system and the futuristic goals of the company. The incumbent will also be responsible for improving /developing the processes and measurement systems, which meet and exceed customer requirements whilst ensuring operational quality, safety and product reliability standards of the company.

The main job functions of this position will include:

• Design and develop control systems to minimize and resolve production issues and project cost deviations associated with new products.
• Support product-costing works for new products. 
• Carry out cost saving measures / alternative solutions by developing initiatives to improve margins of products.
• Optimize conditions for existing processes, Study feasibilities and implement new processes.
• Executing multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors to generate high quality, cost effective solutions in order to secure export orders.
• Research work on material, products, technologies and processes and cater to export business needs while implementing required changes and improvements.
• Follow up New Product Development process and maintain project trackers for ongoing projects. 
• Participating pre-production meeting, visiting production plants and meeting internal stakeholders to identify product requirements and deliver results within stipulated project deadlines.

We seek a dedicated, result oriented young individual with good design and development abilities, communication skills and sound personal attributes for the aforementioned position. 

The suitable candidate should possess:

• NDT/ HND/ B. Sc. Degree in Mechanical / Chemical & Process Engineering from a recognized University.
• Minimum 01-02 Years’ hands on experience in Process Development role in a related manufacturing industry.
• CIMA/ CMA part qualified 
• Knowledge on workshop technology and manufacturing techniques and systems.
• Have good verbal and written language proficiency in Sinhala & English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
• Excellent analytical and logical reasoning skills.
• Excellent project management skill.
