Assistant Manager - HR

Job responsibilities
• Interviewing and selecting suitable manual grade workers at the appropriate time, with appropriate traits to ensure that standard cadre is fulfilled to aid the smooth flow of the production
• Improve employee motivation by initiating & coordinating employee engagement programs thereby ensuring the retention of competent staff at DPL.
• Facilitate harmonious relations with external stakeholders of the factory by organizing and coordinating social responsibility activities thereby improving the company’s image as a good citizen
• Ensure all HR relented compliance including customer audits by ensuring that policies are updated as per the standards
• Actively facilitate employee induction programmes thereby enabling the continual improvement of performance of the employees
• Maintain IR relationships and conduct disciplinary inquires and grievance handling of factory staff
• Manage labour turnover & absenteeism to develop performance driven culture
• Perform additional duties commensurate with the current role, as and when requested by management
Person’s Profile
• A degree preferably relating to Business Management or Human Resources Management / Professional Qualification related to Human Resources Management from a recognized University
• MBA/MSc from a recognized University would be an added advantage
• Minimum 4-5 years’ experience preferably in a Manufacturing environment
• Exceptional communication skills in written and spoken English and Sinhala
• Outstanding interpersonal skills and a strong results orientation
• Ability to work well in both team-oriented and self-directed environments
• Sound knowledge of the MS Office suite
