The Role:

As a member of Grand Rounds Health’s Data Engineering team, you will collaborate with Data Scientists, Platform Engineers, and Product Engineers across Grand Rounds Health to leverage Spark, Airflow, and Kafka to build robust data pipelines, dashboards and processes that weave together complex sets of data stores to enable real-time analytics that can save lives and improve patient outcomes. Your work will have an impact on millions of lives.

Initial Projects Include:

Delivering simple domain-specific datasets to our care-team analysts covering areas of interest such as “how effectively do we answer calls from our patients” and “what is the quality of care that we deliver to our members”, to ease the cognitive burden on users of our data
Working cross-functionally to ship product success metric datasets and dashboards, with summary and drill-down detailed views per product line
Build streaming data processing pipelines as well as a rapid data exploration platform that allows our Data Science team to derive fast insights from various types of healthcare data

What You Will Do:

Build data infrastructure for ETL and implement data science models on the growing number of datasets we have for patients, employers, doctors, treatments, and outcomes
Build and maintain high-performance, fault-tolerant, secure, and scalable distributed software systems
Lead development of various projects and capabilities of the platform
Evaluate new technologies and build prototypes for continuous improvements in data infrastructure and engineering
Automate new data pipelines
Gather requirements and work cross functionally across internal teams

About You:

You have 7+ years professional experience as a software developer
Experience with open-source big data frameworks (Spark, Hadoop), data warehouses (BigQuery, RedShift) and Databases (MySQL, Redis)
You show strong experience using TDD in a production environment
You have proficiency with cluster management and parallel processing
You have experience with SQL, relational databases and ETL techniques
You are driven and capable of operating amidst ambiguity
Experience with data modeling and metadata management is highly desirable
