Solution Architect - Security (100% remote)

To meet the needs of our growing customer base, we’ve re-structured our Solution Engineering department and are now looking for a Solution Architect - Security (m/f/d) to join us.

Our Solution Architects are subject-matter experts that focus on the technical details and help tailor our platform to our customers. If a customer needs a solution for a specific problem, our Solution Architect is perfectly positioned to provide a holistic solution together with our team.

We have recently added an entirely open-source security solution to our suite of managed services and are looking for a Solution Architect to become the subject matter expert for our security tooling in Kubernetes. In this role, you would join our security team and work on building our security offering and understanding how our customers use it, how we can make it more robust, and how we can maximize its value for our customers.

• You will learn our security tooling inside and out, help customers adopt and use it, and help us continuously improve it

• You will join customer meetings with account engineers when additional knowledge on a certain topic is needed

• You will create feature requests in your area of expertise and take responsibility for the design and implementation of the solution

• You might (and are encouraged to) contribute to upstream projects to make them work for our customers

• You will support customers by doing training sessions, resolving questions, and writing documentation for your area of expertise 

• You might prepare and give workshops for customers and participate in security-related events

• You are the expert on security tooling in our Kubernetes clusters, so you stay up to date on the newest developments, test new tools, and practice the latest standards.

• You have min 3+ years of experience in a technical support engineer role or a related position.

• You have a good understanding of Kubernetes and the surrounding ecosystem.

• You can read and write Golang, or have experience with python plus a statically-typed language

• You have experience with enterprise security tools and processes and are familiar with existing Kubernetes security tooling

• You are comfortable juggling changing requests and priorities from customers

• You are able to align roadmap and customer needs in both directions (with the help of our product owners)

• You are able to transfer technical problems and facts into understandable chunks and pieces for our customers and internal teams.

• Bonus points if you currently or previously maintain(ed) an open-source security project, are/were an incident responder, or have worked in a similar relevant blue team role

• Does that sound like a ticket solver? Hell no! We need someone who solves issues before they even come in as a ticket.

• We offer flexible working hours, but we (and our customers) are currently mostly distributed around Europe. You will need to align parts of your day to communicate with them, so ideally your main time zone is UTC +/- 2 hours or US/Canada Eastern Standard Time.

Occasionally, when we, as a team, want to fully focus on one project, we scratch all meetings and routines for a certain time to better focus during our hive-sprints.
