About the Role:
As an Senior Certification Manager - Data Science at DataCamp you will be part of a growing team creating and maintaining our expanding library of certifications and assessments; from measuring learning progress to certifying job readiness for roles such as Data Scientists and Data Engineers.
You will take full ownership of the assessments assigned to you from creating the initial specification, to ensuring candidates receive accurate results in a timely manner. You will be directly responsible for ensuring the contract item writers and graders connected to your assessments are successful in their roles.
You will be expected to take ownership of the quality of the content produced, ensuring that assessments are valid, reliable and fair to all candidates, using data to drive continuous quality improvements.
Responsibilities:
As an Senior Certification Manager you will be responsible for:
- Leading the creation of assessment and certification content from design of the specification to launch
- Ensuring all live assessments adhere to the quality standards required, ensuring that content is revised and/or replaced as needed
- Managing the day to day work of item writers, defining tasks and deadlines for work and ensuring quality guidelines are followed in the creation of content
- Collating the work of item writers to be deployed into live assessments, conducting fairness reviews as needed
- Working with graders to ensure practical exams maintain high levels of reliability
- Working with the Head of Certification Content to ensure the item writing and grading teams are set up to succeed, including supporting hiring as needed
- Providing continual feedback to stakeholders on the status of all assessment content and identifying ways to improve processes to ensure the highest standard of quality.
The Ideal Candidate:
- At least two years of experience in education focused on the development and maintenance of learning and/or assessment materials. Experience in high stakes testing is preferable but not required
- Strong understanding of assessment practice including approaches to assessment within a technical training environment
- Able to explain the requirements for creating valid, reliable and fair content to others and identify adherence to those requirements in test items
- Highly organized with the ability to create a realistic project plan and execute it
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Able to give specific, actionable feedback to item writers and graders
- Experience working with data and able to conduct analysis in R, Python or SQL
