Systems engineer ii – technical project leader (remote)
Role summary:

We are looking for systems engineers who are interested in technical leadership of all elements of the communication design process including system-level trades, requirements development, communication system architecture and design, performance assessment, integration and test, verification, validation and support of fielded productsSuccessful candidates should expect to be immersed in a fast-paced, team-based, and challenging technical environment where an individual with talent and initiative can stand out and thrive.
Primary responsibilities:
Coordinates bids for engineering development programs, including wbs task generation, scope identification, budget and schedule estimating, risk identification, and dependency identification.
Performs technical planning at all levels of the total system product including concept, design, fabrication, modeling, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
Manages program technical risks by evaluating requirements and design aspects.
Interacts with engineering management and team developers, value stream leadership, business development, and finance.
Represents the company at internal and external customer meetings.
Travels occasionally to domestic and international locations.
Acts as the direct interface to capture customer requirements and operational concepts to be translated into a system architecture and design.
Supports functional analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Basic qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of prior relevant experienceTypically requires a degree in science, technology, engineering or mathematics (stem) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
Must be a u.sCitizen
Must have or be capable of obtaining a us department of defense (dod) security clearanceCandidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements
Preferred qualifications:
Experience with complex project scheduling and strategic planning
Experience with communicating between program stakeholders
Experience with earned value management
Experience with agile development methodologies
Experience with tools such as doors, matlab, c++, and python
Experience with model based system engineering (mbse) concepts and tools (cameo) for developing architectures and functional analysis
