Account Manager, Operations
Location: United States (Remote Job)
Position: Full-time
Experience: 2+ Years
Salary: $50,000 + Competitive Performance-based Compensation Plan
Degree Required: Bachelors or better in Business, Organizational Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Communications, or Related
Role Responsibilities
- Day-to-day management and proactive leadership in the planning and execution of multiple companies, projects, and campaigns in your portfolio as well as other special projects.
- Manages day-to-day workflow, timelines, and milestones. Working with the team to help drive scheduled deliverables, relay revision requests, communicate priorities and project status, record progress, and help tackle obstacles as they arise
- Develops and maintains project/company schedules, in conjunction with a multi-functional team, to meet milestones and completion dates
- Ensures short-term plans are in place and communicated as necessary.
- Conducts workload planning, tracking, and forecasting. Streamlines workflows.
- Identifies and manages opportunities and risks, actively working to achieve the best possible impact on schedule and available resources.
- Oversees and provides strong leadership to all team members, capitalizing on individual and group strengths to ensure project targets are achieved.
- Identifies areas where processes could be improved. Initiates improvement plan for simple & moderate issues.
- Leads project kick-off and close-out activities. Outlines, documents, and shares lessons learned.
- Organizing and facilitating sprint planning, daily stand-up events, sprint reviews, retrospectives, release planning, demos, and other related events.
- Reviewing and discussing initial project requests/project briefs with key partners.
- Collaborating with team leads to prioritize work and ensure workloads are properly balanced.
- Tracking progress towards deadlines, proactively flagging resource conflicts and other potential roadblocks.
- Meeting and/or checking in with team members daily to review progress, anticipate workflow or resourcing issues and keep projects moving along.
- Bringing support and/or pressure to the creative team to meet timelines, respecting the creative process while thoughtfully carrying out accountability.
- Holding team members and partners accountable for following established processes, and having the confidence to uphold expectations in the face of resistance.
- Overseeing the quality of all deliverables i.e. proofreading, reviewing project requirements, specifications, and ensuring appropriate team members review and approve.
- Running review cycles with company-wide partners.
- Tracking and managing projects through all approvals and distribution of final deliverables
- Leading project freelancers and vendors, as needed.
- Meeting at least weekly with the cross-functional teams.
- Facilitating daily and weekly team meetings as well as project kickoff meetings.
- Setting up and ensuring accurate and regular reporting on your portfolio companies through various project management tools as well as through direct communication.
- Bringing a positive, solution-oriented mentality to seeking problems while helping to unify and empower team members.
- Collaborating closely with your scrum master, tech team, product managers, creative team, etc. sharing standard methodologies, and driving consistent processes across companies.
- All backend correspondence such as meeting reports, creative briefs, strategic briefs, etc.
- Manages all project steps, tasks, requirements
- Manages internal asset management across multi-functional teams
- Establish clear integration checkpoints to facilitate collaboration between the internal departments involved in the product development process
- Recap internal meetings, feedback, decisions, and deliverables in writing for dissemination to the team and partners
- Partner advocate: Understands clients business, clients goals, deliverables, and strategies
- Company advocate: Understands full company process and how best to match it with partner requests
- Creative advocate: Understands company’s creative process and strives to maintain creative integrity
- Product advocate: Understands product needs of both company and partner and strives to maintain product equilibrium
Required Skills
- Bachelors degree AND 2+ years of experience in Project Management and/or Operations - preferably with a focus on Creative Content or Technology/SaaS Products or 5+ years of related experience.
- Ability to lead in a fast-paced environment across multi-functioning teams and projects
- Strong [like strong STRONG!] interpersonal, communication, project management & organizational skills
- Experience leading and executing change management
- Demonstrable experience dealing with ambiguity and proposing recommended solutions with multiple partners
- Experience identifying, designing, implementing, and maintaining human resources or business processes
- Solves complex problems and takes a broad perspective to find a creative solution
- A clear track record of optimally using and optimizing project management tools to handle projects.
- A validated comfort level with leading sophisticated creative, product, and business development requests that may span multiple groups as well as an ability to lead large volumes of projects with tight deadlines.
- The ability to thrive in the face of organized chaos
- Capacity to create processes independently and move projects to completion in a fast-paced environment.
- Skilled at building relationships at all levels of an organization.
- Communication and presentation experience, and experience clarifying and summarizing issues.
- High attention to detail and facility with documenting workflows, schedules, and trackers.
Desired Skills
- 3-4 years of well-rounded account and project management in technology, SaaS, or Software Development
- Professional writing skills, ability to construct a well-written email
- Marketing Strategy, Business Development Experience, Growth Hacking or SaaS scale
- Inherent desire to be a part of the strategic and creative process
- Ability to fill in the gaps when all information is not readily available -- self-sufficiency
- Digitally connected, passionate about technology and innovation with an insatiable curiosity for how it applies to your direct companies
- Acute attention to detail
- Open to travel as necessary
- Experience with Google Drive or cloud file management.
- Familiarity with ASANA
- Previous experience in technology/software development
