Senior Backend Engineer (Remote)

This is a full-time, fully remote role for Latin American candidates. Applicants must have strong written and oral communication in English.

Must be within +/- 3 hours of Eastern Standard Timezone (NYC).

Main responsibilities are:

• Develop backend APIs using NestJS and/or NodeJS
• Experience creating APIs is a must
• Create microservices to help support the Single Page application front end we are developing in parallel.

Secondary responsibilities are:

• Work with testers and designers for product vision and product stability
• GitHub branch management

Software requirements:

• NestJS preferred (NodeJS acceptable) we are looking for 5+ years of combined experience in NodeJS and NestJS, years of experience in NestJS is preferred, but we understand that this is a relatively new technology, we will accept your NodeJS skills
• TypeScript experience
• PostgreSQL experience, our databases are in PostgreSQL, we are not looking for a DBA but someone that can understand how to consume data from there
• Postman (where we test our APIs)
• Kubernetes (where we deploy our apps)
• Jenkins (our CI/CD tool)
• Jest (what we use for testing)

What would be our perfect candidate?

• You love coding (we are a small team, we are not looking for someone to just lead, but to get down here with us and crank code)
• 5 to 10 years of experience developing backend applications
• 2+ years of NestJS experience or 5+ years of NodeJS
• At least 2+ years developing APIs

Salary: $48,000 - $80,000 USD per year
