Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Data Architect to join our team. In this role, you will work with one of our client teams, in insurance, life and annuity products, to impart your expertise in several data-driven areas; integration, databases, models, governance and processes.
The ideal candidate must be well-versed in data architecture in the delivery of a large-scale enterprise SaaS platform. Experience with data modelling and familiarity with insurance standardized formats, such as ACORD. If this sounds like you, apply now!Location: Remote (North or South America)

Employment Type: Full Time (Canada Only) or Contract (North or South America)
Travel: 1 week per quarter* (every 3 months) to the client site in the U.S. *No travel anticipated for 2022
Responsibilities:
- Ensure conceptual, logical and physical data model designs meet business and technological requirements including data volume, frequency and long-term data growth;
- Determine cross-application data standards, data distribution standards and tuning strategies.
- Guide, scope and implement technology solutions to meet business needs and direction;
- Provide leadership and mentor other engineers in the implementation of best business practices for the data domain;
- Define and/or validate the technical, functional and impact aspects of the solution to ensure alignment with compliance and security groups;
- Create various data architecture documents in collaboration with various project teams;
- Stay up to date on the latest technology and help us stay aligned with emerging best practices where practical;
- Work with the engineering team to evaluate technology solutions.
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in data architecture;
- Experience in a Senior Data Architect role;
- Excellent ability to analyze data flows and cross-system impacts;
- Proven expertise as a data architect in the following areas: 3NF, data vault, dimensional, hierarchical, DWH, etc.;
- Strong knowledge of data integration tools as well as standards and best practices for data engineering;
- Good knowledge of data governance principles, modeling tools or equivalent;
- Experience working with various stakeholders to define data requirements and structure;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Additional Assets:
- Knowledge of the life insurance industry (data focus) and the technologies and systems used in it is a strong asset;
- Experience (in a data role) in the delivery of a large-scale enterprise SaaS platform;
