The Junior Backend Engineer will join an existing team of engineering and product talent. You’ll collaborate closely with our engineering leadership to grow as an engineer, gain experience, and develop technical expertise. You’ll get to know us, our business, the needs of our users, internally and externally, and we’ll get to know you and help integrate you into the team and company.
AlphaFlow is a high growth fintech startup working in the Real Estate debt market. Our technology vision is to provide technology to disrupt this industry and automate many manual processes in the industry. We build software that helps both our B-B partners and investors as well as internal software to better manage our business products. We do this through building web software and integrations with a variety of third parties, as well as using modern technologies to automate or simplify existing workflows.

You don’t shy away from presenting, whether to leadership or at our weekly all-hands. Deliverables you'll be measured on:
● Design, implement, test, and deploy backend services with high SLAs
● Contribute to technical decisions for our backend APIs
● Effectively write and present technical design documents
● Actively contribute high quality code on a daily basis
● Work with peers on the engineering team, reviewing code and helping others improve
Skills and Experience that will help set you up for success in this role:
● Building and consuming RESTful APIs
● Working within small teams & in fast moving environments
● Server-side programming languages (e.g. Go, Python, Java, C++)
● Familiarity with relational databases and SQL
● Clear, concise and persuasive communication style that motivates and enables action
● Attention to detail, written/oral, analytical skills, and organizational practices
● At least 1 year professional experience/internships with the above content
Nice to haves:
● Experience with Go
● Previous startup experience
● Familiarity with web software frameworks (ex goBuffalo / Rails / Django)
